Great to meet you!

At times we can feel stuck, overwhelmed, and in survival mode, making it difficult to think, make decisions, and navigate daily life. Having a designated space where you can reflect, gain understanding, and plan out change can make all the difference. I offer a compassionate, holistic, and empowering approach to therapy; one that is mindful of the person's physical, emotional, and social context. Building resiliency and lasting change through therapy is my goal

While I have treated a variety of diagnoses, I find I am especially helpful in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. I enjoy working with clients going through life transitions, loss and grief, family issues, relationship communication, and identity building/exploration. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish, and I have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ communities, cisgender men’s issues, young professionals, older adults, and bicultural persons.

I graduated from Simmons University with a Masters in Clinical Social Work and Healthcare Certificate. I’ve trained and worked in: crisis intervention, cognitive neurology, inpatient hospital floors, and outpatient individual and group therapy. These experiences have been in Boston, MA with organizations such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Fenway Health, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

In my free time, I enjoying traveling throughout the US and internationally, cooking new recipes, reading fiction and non-fiction, hiking, watching movies, and spending quality time with friends and family over a homemade meal.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy in an eclectic and creative way by using insights from different approaches, including CBT, Psychodynamic, Narrative, and Internal Family Systems therapies. This is because everyone’s healing journeys are unique, so therapy is tailored to each client. I strive to provide a trusting and judgment-free space where clients can explore their inner worlds (hopes, fears, wants, and needs) as well as external environment (family, relationships, work, etc). Through this exploration, comes awareness and understanding that helps with achieving acceptance, peace, change, and improved life management.

Likewise, I also aim to challenge clients, including self-accountability, keeping views and expectations based in reality, and helping clients reach beyond their fears by trying new things outside of their comfort zones.

I am kind, respectful, participatory, engaged, and sincere in therapy.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will consist of completing a diagnostic assessment, where I will ask questions about you, including a history, present problems/stressors, and your hopes for therapy. This assessment will help us develop a treatment plan that takes your needs into account while also helping us discern the direction for therapy that best addresses your problems, symptoms, and goals for change.

From our sessions, it is my hope that you will obtain self-awareness, understanding, compassion, and empowerment that helps you carry out change, obtain more acceptance and peace for what is outside your control, and an increased in inner-centeredness that helps daily life be more manageable.

I have experience working with a variety of clients, ranging from teens to older adults, people of various cultural and spiritual backgrounds, adults from diverse gender and sexual identities, and chronic disease/conditions. I strive to provide a collaborative and respectful space. If you think we may be a good therapeutic fit, I welcome hearing from you!
