Great to meet you!

I truly believe that “It’s never too late to mend.” No matter how overwhelming life may feel, there is always hope, and I am deeply committed to helping you find it. I approach each individual as a unique person—not just a set of symptoms—and believe that everyone deserves healing, compassion, and a second chance.

I bring over 30 years of experience in the field of psychiatry, having graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria. My training includes general/adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry at the University of Mississippi, University of Texas Southwestern, and Columbia University–Harlem Hospital Center. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals across all age groups and backgrounds, supporting those facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, substance use, and other mental health conditions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in empathy, guided by purpose, and focused on creating meaningful, lasting change. I take a holistic and patient-centered approach, combining clinical expertise with genuine compassion. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their experiences, challenges, and goals, and then develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to their needs.

I value building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe, heard, and respected. My care integrates evidence-based practices, medication management when appropriate, and supportive guidance to help clients regain stability, build resilience, and improve their overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

Initial consultations are conducted by our intake team rather than directly with a provider to ensure faster scheduling. During this brief call, our administrative staff will answer general (non-clinical) questions, collect basic information, and help match you with the most appropriate provider.

While you may request a specific provider, pre-appointment consultation calls with clinicians are not available. All clinical discussions, recommendations, and treatment planning will take place during your scheduled appointment.

This process allows us to prioritize direct patient care while offering timely access to services.

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where they can share their story openly and at their own pace. I will take time to understand your concerns, history, and goals for treatment while asking thoughtful questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of your needs.

This session is also an opportunity for us to begin building trust and establishing a collaborative relationship. Together, we will discuss potential next steps, outline a treatment plan, and ensure you feel comfortable and supported moving forward.
