Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Adreanna Hunter, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed School Psychologist with over 14 years of experience in mental health and education. I specialize in supporting adolescents, adults, and families with concerns related to stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, and emotional regulation. My background includes extensive work in outpatient therapy, school-based services, crisis intervention, clinical assessment, and family support. I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. My approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and focused on meeting clients where they are. I use evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, trauma-informed care, and motivational interviewing to help clients build insight and develop practical coping skills. I work from a strengths-based perspective, helping clients identify what is already working and build on those abilities. My style is warm, direct, and down-to-earth, creating a space where clients feel safe to talk openly and explore their experiences. I tailor each session to the individual’s unique needs, goals, and cultural background to ensure therapy feels meaningful and effective.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental environment where they can share their story at their own pace. I typically begin by getting to know your concerns, strengths, and goals so we can identify what you want to work on in therapy. We’ll review your history, discuss what has been working or not working, and explore what support looks like for you. I also take time to answer questions and explain what therapy with me will feel like moving forward. By the end of the session, clients usually leave with a clearer understanding of their goals and the next steps in their therapeutic journey.
