Great to meet you!

I have been a therapist for 14+ years and I love what I do. I truly feel it has been a calling for me to sit with my clients in the dark spaces of life, so they feel less alone and to process the hurts with them. I love watching my clients have incremental improvements and watching them learn to love and trust themselves and to have healthier relationships. I am very open minded and believe you are a whole person and am not embarrassed to talk about any of what you have going on. I am open minded spiritually and am an LGBTQ ally and member. I am not the therapist who is just going to sit and nod at you while you talk, I am engaging and give feedback and consider what my clients are able to hear and the level of changes they are wanting/ willing to make. I myself have been in therapy and work hard to hold my role as therapist in mind as well as my side on the other side of the clinical relationship. I do not view myself as the expert on your life, just a fellow human that has some extra training in this area, as well as good people skills and high intuition that genuinely wants to help and cares once I have heard your story. I am conversational in session and will self disclose if it relates to the conversation. I have a dark sense of humor, suck at math and love animals and I enjoy reading, watching TV and coloring for fun. I have been told by others that I am a great listener, think outside the box and am nonjudgmental and am authentic and genuine. I have training in EMDR, Expressive art therapy and IFS. I would love to work with you!

My approach to therapy

I have been told by others that I am in my calling as a therapist. I am an excellent listener and give really great ideas that are outside the box. My clients appreciate that I am not robotic in the therapy room and that I occasionally self disclose. They like that I don’t take myself too seriously, but that I do take their concerns seriously and that I show a deep and authentic level of care for them. They appreciate that I will hold them accountable but not in a judgmental or mean way.

I enjoy working with clients that are a bit woo- woo, alternative, empaths and who are insightful and open minded. I love helping women get out of abusive and narcissistic relationships and helping young adults understand themselves as an adult and work through childhood trauma and their parents being emotionally immature and getting to a place of “ they did the best they could with what they had”. I appreciate clients who are neurodiverse because they see all the colors that make up the world and have an added layer of depth to them. I enjoy helping people with a dark sense of humor and who have or do feel broken or relate with being resilient and overcomers, or underdogs, the black sheep of the family and those who are the cycle breakers. Those who are LGBTQ+, those who are deconstructing from church or organized religion, those that feel deeply and have more than one type of knowing.

What you can expect from me

In the first session we will spend time talking about your history and what brings you to therapy. We will work on building our therapeutic relationship and figuring out what goals you have and areas you want to work on. We will discuss policies.
