Great to meet you!

HI! I am Adrienne Wehking. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010.

With 16 years of clinical experience, I specialize in providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy to adults navigating complex mental health challenges. My focus is on empowering individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses—such as major depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and trauma—to stabilize, heal, and improve your quality of life.

As Glenn Close, a prominent mental health advocate so accurately stated- "What mental health needs is more sunlight, more candor, and more unashamed conversation.” I am here to begin that conversation.

My approach to therapy

As a strong believer in the importance of mental health wellness, you can expect a space that is authentic, warm and accepting space. You are an expert in your life, my purpose here is to support you in identifying your life challenges, so that we may collaborate about how to best meet your goals. I like to tell clients the day you don't me is a good day- and if done well therapy is not designed to last forever.

I work from a strength based, solution focused model. While there is a scared space for our past, we can spend a small amount of time uncovering these memories. Collaborating we can work towards actionable goals in order for you to have to the future you visualize. I use modalities that help to uncover and change unhelpful thinking patterns, assist in releasing painful past events that are affecting your future and nervous system, and learning way to create concreate steps to manage your emotions, relationships, and lower your stress level.

What you can expect from me

I am happy to provide a free consultation by phone to make sure that I am the right fit for you. Trust yourself and your gut when interviewing therapist, as research shows the right fit is an important dynamic in this process. I encourage you to reach out to more one, as this is your journey. Right now, I practice virtually and have evening and Sunday hours.
