Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Alexandra but I go by Xan. My special interests are trauma, spirituality and the effect of lifestyle choices on mental health. I like to think I know some things about people in general, but I believe you are the expert on yourself and if we work together we can achieve my motto: More Joy. I believe in change, not perfection, "If we keep an open mind there is no situation too difficult to be bettered and no unhappiness too great to be lessened (Suggested Al‐Anon Closing)."

My approach to therapy

I see people as having a landscape they develop over their lives with which we compare events so we know how to react. There can be hills or mountains in our past which we may no longer have to navigate; refreshing our landscape is how I think of what I do. As well as incorporating my interests in how lifestyle choices, especially food and spirituality, affect mental health I bring a broad and ever-changing pool of interests to my work.

What you can expect from me

I like to set goals with clients and help them incorporate what we do in session into their everyday life and will do that in as structured or unstructured a way as suits the client, from insight to habit-building to workbooks.
