Great to meet you!

My name is Alicia Woods, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I have over 16 years of experience providing therapy to individuals across the lifespan, from children to older adults. I have a strong background in treating a wide range of mental health challenges, with a particular passion for helping those experiencing depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress related to life’s difficult circumstances. I am committed to creating a supportive, practical, and empowering space where clients can grow and move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to working with clients is to work together to improve their overall well-being. I encourage and motivate. I am eclectic regarding treatment modalities; however, I hone in on a solution-focused approach and am grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have also completed a year-long specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, an evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals ages 14 and older heal from trauma/PTSD.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can begin to share your story at your own pace. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brings you to therapy, and identifying your goals for treatment. I will ask questions to better understand your background, current concerns, and any past experiences with therapy, but there is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.

We will also review important information such as confidentiality, the structure of sessions, and what the therapy process may look like moving forward. My approach is collaborative and solution-focused, so we will begin identifying practical steps and strategies that can support you right away. Most importantly, this first session is about helping you feel heard, understood, and confident that you are in a safe space to begin your journey toward healing and growth.
