Hi, I’m Alison Hochman (she/they), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #154392) with a deep commitment to holding space for healing that honors the whole self—mind, body, and identity. I specialize in working with individuals navigating trauma, disordered eating, body image distress, and identity exploration, particularly within LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities.
My background includes training in trauma-informed care, somatic integration, and mindful eating, as well as experience with personality disorders, complex PTSD, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. I’m grounded in anti-oppression, body liberation, and neurodivergent-affirming frameworks, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where every part of you is welcome.
My approach to therapy is warm, relational, and attuned. I integrate somatic work, mindfulness-based strategies, and parts work with practical tools for emotional regulation and distress tolerance. I honor the mind-body connection and support clients in noticing how emotions, sensations, and beliefs interact in real-time.
We might work with inner child parts, explore internalized narratives (like weight stigma or shame), or build a deeper sense of body trust and safety. Sessions often weave in somatic awareness, creative expression, and psychoeducation—while staying grounded in consent and collaboration. I'm here to walk with you, not direct you.
Clients often leave sessions with more clarity, a deeper connection to their own needs, and an increased capacity to respond to distress with intention. We’ll work toward cultivating inner safety, self-compassion, and a more empowered relationship with your body and emotions.
I create a space where you can be curious, imperfect, emotional, and honest. Therapy with me is not about fixing you—it’s about helping you come home to yourself.
