Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Amaechi Olumba, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in nursing and behavioral health. I provide compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based psychiatric care to individuals experiencing a variety of mental health concerns.

My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where clients can feel comfortable discussing their concerns and actively participating in their journey toward improved mental health and overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, affirming, and empowering. I believe that every client has a unique story, so I take time to listen, understand their concerns, and create a treatment plan that reflects their individual needs, preferences, and goals.

I strive to provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their mental health. My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care, medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive therapeutic techniques. I focus on treating the whole person rather than symptoms alone, considering emotional, physical, social, and lifestyle factors that may affect mental well-being.

I work with adults experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, insomnia, and other mood-related conditions. Throughout treatment, I encourage open communication and shared decision-making so clients feel informed, supported, and actively involved in their care.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you have the opportunity to share your story and concerns at your own pace. I will take time to learn about your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, lifestyle, relationships, and the challenges that brought you to care.

Together, we will identify your concerns, discuss your treatment goals, and develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, lifestyle recommendations, or other appropriate resources. I encourage questions and shared decision-making throughout the process.

My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, supported, and clear about the next steps in your care.
