Great to meet you!

I am a therapist in Maryland, specializing in working with soul-searching teens and adults – who identify as sensitive, empathic, and self-aware – overcome self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, and loneliness, in order to build a stronger sense of self-esteem, reconnect with who they really are, and connect with others on a deeper level. I have years of experience working in top-tier clinics and hospitals and take a soft, warm, client-centered, and structured approach to help clients feel empowered and more in control of themselves and their lives.

I have received thorough training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and facilitated and co-facilitated research and intervention groups. This intervention helps improve mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and social interactions. I have firsthand seen people make improvements in their self-esteem, coping, and relationships through practicing these skills. I also address trauma using trauma-informed care and a modified form of exposure therapy, which is a little gentler on clients

My approach to therapy

I take a soft, warm, and client-centered approach, as therapy should be a place where you feel safe and heard. Former clients have expressed feeling easy to talk and open up to me. Our sessions will be an hour long and we work together using simple talk-therapy for insight and specific evidence-based interventions, in accordance to your needs and comfort, to learn and practice skills in an organized manner both in session and on your own afterwards.

From our sessions together, you can expect to feel more empowered and in control of yourself and your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session together will be an intake, followed by creating a treatment plan together in the next session. Intake with me looks like a simple process of gathering information you are comfortable sharing and that which will help in the treatment process. This may include your biological/medical, mental health, and social history, but nothing you do not feel ready to share and confidentiality is respected.

We will eventually start focusing on the learning and practice of skills to better regulate emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. You will also develop skills to communicate and interact better with people in your life. I expect to see you feeling more confident within yourself and satisfied in regards to having achieved your goals at a pace comfortable for you.
