Great to meet you!

I am Amanda! A little about me is that I enjoy reading, walking my dog, and going to the movies. I want to thank you so much for taking time to take a look at my profile. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. I got my Masters degree from Winthrop University in 2013. Therapy works best when you feel safe being yourself, and that is what I aim to create. With 13 years of experience supporting children, families, and adults through everyday stress, anxiety, depression, and moments of crisis, I bring both compassion and practical tools to our work together. I am open to working with any and all individuals.

My approach to therapy

I am always going to bring a warm and caring environment to our sessions and I want to make sure that they are centered around the goals that we have set up together. Every person is different so how your session will be structured will be based around your needs which we will discuss. If you need more of a listening approach from me and then I respond once you get your thoughts out. I can also push back and challenge thoughts if needed. Each session may look different depending on what needs to be addressed in that session.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be us getting to know each other and finding out what brought you to therapy. I want to make sure that I am going to be able to assist you in making these changes and making sure I am the right fit for you. I know the first session can be overwhelming and I want to help ease that and make it as reassuring as possible. I want our time together to be beneficial for you and your growth towards the person you want to become and addressing those issues.
