Amanda Peden, MS-MHC, LCPC, is a mental health counselor specializing in trauma recovery and substance use disorder. For the past 16 years, she has enjoyed helping people recover from addiction and life trauma by developing healthy relationships with family and friends and enhancing spirituality. Amanda earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Utah Valley University in Orem, UT, in 2007, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix in Salt Lake City, UT, in 2010. She has worked in the field of addiction and mental health for 26 years, with the last 16 years as a mental health counselor. Amanda has presented at professional conferences for the American Mental Health Counselors Association, Utah Mental Health Counselors Association, and Utah Substance Abuse Conference, training counselors and paraprofessionals about the complexities of trauma and evidence-based approaches to treating PTSD. Amanda was also recognized in Idaho’s Who’s Who in Recovery for 2024. As a woman in recovery, Amanda enjoys being a mother and grandmother, is an avid reader, and loves creating everything from art to new programs that help people build their best life and achieve their dreams.

I meet you where you are at and use the best evidenced based approaches to assist you in meeting your goals. We are a team working on your behalf. I specialize in substance abuse issues, trauma recovery, and working with family members of those with drug and alcohol addiction to increase support and communication in your relationships.

In our first session, I will seek to understand your history (as much as you are comfortable sharing), understanding your goals, the challenges or barriers to reaching your goals, and answer any questions you have about the therapy process or my approach to your care.
