Great to meet you!

I'm Amanda Pifer, LMFT, a Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 10 years of experience specializing in grief, trauma, and adjustment disorders. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and first responders. My style is compassionate, curious, collaborative, and authentic, with a healthy appreciation for humor. I provide telehealth therapy to clients in California and Oregon.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, curious, and collaborative. I'm a genuinely inquisitive person, which means I ask questions because I truly want to understand your experience—not because I'm trying to fit you into a diagnosis or a formula. I'm also a big believer in listening. Really listening.

I don't believe therapy should be about someone sitting across from you telling you how to live your life. You know yourself better than anyone. My job is to bring experience, perspective, curiosity, and therapeutic tools to the conversation while we work together to figure out what you need and where you want to go.

And I believe there's room for humor in therapy, too.

Life can be incredibly heavy. Sometimes being able to laugh—even in the middle of difficult things—is part of being human. I bring warmth and a sense of humor into my work while still making space for the seriousness of what you're experiencing.

What you can expect from me

I believe the therapeutic relationship matters. You should feel like you're talking with someone who genuinely wants to understand you—not someone checking boxes on a form. We'll work together to identify what's bringing you to therapy, understand the patterns that may be getting in your way, and develop a path forward that fits you.
