Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Amanda!

I'm an avid Husker fan, proud cat mom, and Nebraska native who somehow found my way back home after living in five states and more than a dozen cities over the past 20 years. If we meet through telehealth, don't be surprised if one of my cats decides to stop by and say hello—they take their roles as therapy cats very seriously.

Professionally, I've spent years working with adults facing mental health, addiction, trauma, and life challenges. I have a special passion for supporting military members, veterans, first responders, individuals involved in the criminal justice system, and anyone who often feel like they're carrying more than anyone realizes.

I believe people are far more resilient than they give themselves credit for, and my goal is to create a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment.

My approach to therapy

No two people have the same story, so I don't believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to your individual needs and goals. Together, we'll explore what's bringing you to therapy, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop tools to help you move forward.

I value honesty, transparency, and authenticity in the counseling relationship. I may challenge you at times, but I'll do so with compassion and respect. I strive to create an environment where you feel supported, heard, and empowered to make meaningful changes. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-based counseling as part of the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, what challenges you're facing, and what you hope to gain from the experience. You don't need to have everything figured out, and you certainly don't need to tell your entire life story in one session.

My goal is to help you feel comfortable, answer any questions you may have, and begin building a plan that fits your needs. Some clients leave feeling relieved just to finally talk about what's been weighing on them. Others leave with a few practical strategies they can start using right away. Either way, we'll take things at a pace that feels right for you.
