Great to meet you!

I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages, identities, and creeds- with a special focus on my fellow military veterans and LGBTQAI+ community members.

Sometimes people come in feeling stuck in something they can’t quite untangle on their own. Sometimes it’s conflict, distance, or the same dynamic playing out again and again. We’ll spend time getting a clearer sense of what’s happening for you underneath these broader patterns, while also building your capacity to respond differently moment to moment in the here and now.

Part of joining me in this work (and it will be work!) is allowing your nervous system to feel safe enough to be fully present, to slow things down enough to really see what’s going on—internally and between us in the session room. From there, people tend to find themselves responding with more clarity, more flexibility, and a stronger sense of footing in their relationships and in themselves.

My approach to therapy

I offer therapy that works closely with the person (or relationship dynamic) in front of me, allowing you to feel my presence in the room fully. My work is specifically grounded in psychodynamic and attachment-based thinking, and shaped by my ongoing fellowship with the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Psychoanalytic thinking shows up in how I listen, how I track patterns, and how I think about change over time. When appropriate I will also invite you to reflect on these patterns with me in session and to explore psychoanalytic themes when present

I also draw from DBT, somatic work, and eye movement–based trauma approaches when useful (and agreed upon). Together we will build a plan for the future that manages the balance of meeting you where you are today and holding space for you to meet yourself deeply in a way that feels compassionate and kind

What you can expect from me

I’m grateful for the chance to do this work, and for the possibility of meeting you here. When first meeting, we’ll take one step at a time, getting to know each other and checking in frequently throughout this process. I have a lot of respect for the part of people that keeps moving toward something better, even when it’s hard to see clearly. We can lean into that together, and see what begins to open up from there. I’ll be glad to meet you.
