Great to meet you!

I'm Amber Johnson, LMSW, PMH-C, and I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can be honest about what you're going through without judgment. I have certification in perinatal mental health and often work with individuals navigating pregnancy, postpartum, birth trauma, NICU admissions, anxiety, and life transitions. I also have experience within the military community as a service member and a military spouse as well as 8 years of experience supporting students and staff in public education. So, if you're looking for someone who understands the culture and/or acronyms, you found me!

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I tailor our work to your goals, needs, and what feels most helpful to you. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT-informed strategies, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. We'll discuss what you're experiencing, what you'd like to change, and what you hope to get from therapy. You don't need to have everything figured out before we begin. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and comfortable with where we'll start.
