Great to meet you!

Welcome! I'm Ami.

I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in private practice and I'm glad you found your way here. Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, so take a moment to read about me and how I work. If anything resonates, I'd love to connect for a free consultation to explore whether I might be a good fit for what you're looking for.

What I offer:

I provide individual therapy for people who want to move through life's with greater ease, clarity, and fulfillment. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for your unique experiences and identities.

I identify as Queer and Asian-American, and many of my clients share these identities. If you're queer, trans, gender expansive, neurodivergent, or in some way navigating a life between cultures, I'd love to offer you a space to explore your experience and how you want to show up in the world.

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic and tailored to you, but at its core is Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, also known as parts work. Through parts work, we will come to understand the different parts within you; how they developed, what roles they've taken on, and how they can be gently shifted so you can thrive. Trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, and other hardships often push parts of us into extreme or protective roles. With space, understanding, and compassion, that can change.

I'm also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). We can use this for more targeted trauma processing as it weaves naturally alongside parts work. I also draw from mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches, and relational therapy.

What you can expect from me

Your first session will be the start of us building a unique type of relationship. I view my role as creating a space where you can feel fully seen, understood, and cared for. This will be the vehicle through which we will come to understand how you connect with others, and patterns that you fall into. In our first session I’ll begin get to know you, what your life looks like, and what you’re wanting to get out of therapy.
