Great to meet you!

Life has a way of leading us exactly where we’re meant to be. After a successful first career, I made the decision in my mid-40s to return to school and earn my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University—a choice that felt less like a change and more like coming home.

My greatest strength as a therapist is meeting people exactly where they are—without judgment, pretense, or pressure. I believe in creating a space where you can show up as your full self, with all the complexity that makes you human. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on genuine understanding, personal growth, and lasting change.

Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, relationship challenges, or simply seeking a deeper sense of peace and purpose, my approach is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and collaboration. Therapy is not about fixing who you are—it’s about discovering the parts of you that have been waiting to be heard.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity. I believe that healing happens in the context of a genuine connection—one built on trust, empathy, and sometimes even a good laugh. While the work can be serious, therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy. I often use humor as a way to bring perspective, lighten the moment, and remind us that growth can come with grace and even joy.

I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and person-centered approaches, but always tailor our work to fit your unique needs, personality, and goals. My role is to meet you where you are, walk alongside you without judgment, and help you make sense of your experiences in a way that feels empowering and meaningful.

I see therapy as a partnership—one that invites curiosity, compassion, and sometimes a little bit of laughter along the way.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know you. There’s no pressure to have the perfect words or to know exactly where to begin — we’ll go at your pace. I’ll ask some gentle questions to learn more about what brings you to therapy, what’s been feeling difficult, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

I focus on creating a space that feels safe, real, and human. You can expect warmth, curiosity, and genuine listening — and maybe even a little humor to help ease the nerves that often come with starting something new. By the end of our session, my goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and a bit more hopeful about the path ahead.

Therapy is a collaborative process, and this first meeting is the start of building a relationship where you can show up exactly as you are.
