Great to meet you!

Having worked in health care most of my professional career, I have really come to respect and appreciate the shared trust that forms in a therapist/client relationship as well as clients allowing me to be a part of what is often a very difficult and personal journey for them. After receiving my graduate degree I started my first job in a hospital which was the beginning of a long journey that led to my working with the chronically ill, people with disabilities and in Oncology providing clinical social work care as part of multi-disciplinary team. During that time I developed and implemented support groups, chaired an Ethics Committee and served on a number of committees both within the hospital as well as the community. I also had a private practice in which I worked primarily with Oncology patients adjusting to illness, disability and end of life issues. Once Covid came into play, I began to provide mental health and case management services in the schools. At this time it is my goal to resume my work with a medical population who may be experiencing anxiety and/or depression as a result of imposed health changes and or a disabling condition. I look forward to meeting with you.

My approach to therapy

My personal approach as a therapist is to demonstrate warmth, openness and compassion as those who reached out for help of any kind are frequently feeling vulnerable, lost and challenged. It is my hope to help you feel comfortable and that you can put your trust in me.

What you can expect from me

It is always my hope that clients will feel that they have been heard and understood, My goal is to support you but also help you gain tools and strategies to use that may help you feel more confident and empowered no matter what your situation is. It may also involve exploring relationships with family, friends and/or health care providers and helping you be able to advocate for yourself as needed.
