Great to meet you!

I am an LMSW having earned my degree from Illinois State University in 2007 and moving to Michigan shortly thereafter. My primary experience is with children and families as well as addictions/substance use and relationships. Prior to resuming a clinical position, I worked in foster care for 6 years.

My approach to therapy

I am invested in helping people re-align with their own values, understand their goals and setting priorities. I believe behaviors and choices are forms of communication. My approach is both solution-focused to improve stability and reduce dysregulation with more long-term methods aimed at increasing self-reliance and the ability to maintain positive change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect quite a few questions aimed at getting to know what brought them to therapy along with what "successful" therapy looks like for them. General "getting to know you" questions and background/history are also key factors in a first session.
