Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Amy and I am a licensed mental health counselor in Bradenton, Florida. I’m also licensed in the state of Maine as a licensed clinical professional counselor and licensed alcohol and drug counselor. I know it can be tricky and sometimes overwhelming finding a counselor so I just wanted to say hello and welcome. Please feel free to reach out~

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is meeting you where you are at. This is your time and I’m here to help and support you in the most effective way possible. I believe people are complex and benefit from different approaches and techniques at different times in their healing process. Having said that, I feel very compassionate with incorporating IFS as a way of thinking. It is gentle, as well as accepting of all of our parts and helps create a safe space for you to heal at your pace.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a time for us to get to know one another. I believe it’s your time to see how you feel about the setting and the experience. When you are ready, hopefully you will share what brought you in. You’re not expected to have anything figured out. Often, this evolves as we continue meeting together. The important part of our first session is for you to see if you feel safe and comfortable to work towards opening up and healing.
