Great to meet you!

Clients should know that I hold a Doctorate in Education with a specialization in Traumatology and have extensive experience working with individuals impacted by trauma across diverse populations. My clinical background includes working with intergenerational trauma, military and civilian sexual trauma, combat-related trauma, veteran and military-related concerns, PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship and family challenges, and alcohol and drug-related issues.

I am trained in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My clinical specialty areas include trauma treatment, particularly Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR, which are widely recognized approaches for helping individuals process traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and improve overall functioning.

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, trauma-informed, and focused on helping clients feel safe, empowered, and supported throughout their healing journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and grounded in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I believe each individual is the expert of their own experiences, and therapy should honor each client’s unique story, strengths, and goals.

I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and create meaningful behavioral changes. My therapeutic style is compassionate, trauma-informed, and tailored to meet the individual needs of each client while encouraging growth, healing, resilience, and self-awareness throughout the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session to be a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where they are encouraged to share their experiences, concerns, and goals at their own pace. I understand that emotional pain, unresolved trauma, and distressing thoughts can leave individuals feeling stuck in their past experiences, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward. My role is to help guide and support clients through the active healing process with compassion, understanding, and clinical expertise.

Healing is an evolving journey, and therapy is designed to help clients develop insight, coping skills, emotional resilience, and healthier patterns of thinking and functioning over time. As an experienced therapist, I work collaboratively with clients — and when appropriate, their families — to navigate the challenges, transitions, and victories that occur throughout the therapeutic restoration process. Clients can expect to feel heard, respected, supported, and empowered as we begin building a therapeutic relationship focused on growth, healing, and meaningful change.
