Great to meet you!

My name is Andrew Newhouse, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 13 years of experience in the mental health field in a variety of settings, e.g., wilderness therapy, community mental health, telehealth, and detention centers. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors, helping people find their way on this road of life. Whether it be managing anxiety or depression, grief or loss, substance use or other addictions, I am here to help you.

My approach to therapy

I liken therapy to taking a road trip. You know where you want to go, and have some thoughts about how to start, but maybe don’t know how to get there. What do you do? You might consult a map, or use a navigation app. In this “therapy road trip”, you are the driver, reaching your goals is your destination, and I am the map/navigator. You have control of the wheel, but I will help you find your way. If you’re not ready to take the driver’s seat yet, that’s ok. We'll take it one step at a time.

What you can expect from me

I consider my purpose in therapy to empower the people I work with. I want you to walk away from this journey with the tools and skills you need to take charge of your life, your mental health, and your well-being. In a way, my goal is to "work myself out of a job" -- helping you reach a point where you can say, "I got this".
