Great to meet you!

My name is Angel, and I am honored to serve individuals and families here in Delaware. I come from humble beginnings and a community that often viewed mental health as taboo, so I deeply understand how hard it can be to seek support. Over time, and through eight years of nursing in community health and ambulatory care, I learned something foundational: there is no true wellness without mental wellness.

As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), I approach mental health as central to our ability to function, connect, heal, and thrive. The mind can be renewed and strengthened with the right tools, guidance, and support. My faith, my community involvement, and my clinical background have shaped how I practice. I am a listener, an educator, and an advocate.

My goal is not to “push pills,” but to help you understand your brain, your symptoms, and your options. Medication can be helpful for some, but it is only one tool among many. I am a strong advocate for neurofeedback, therapy, affirming community, and lifestyle interventions that improve emotional and cognitive resilience.

Working with me means we look at the whole picture: your medical history, stress, resilience, faith practices, sleep, trauma, family patterns, lifestyle, and goals. I believe mental health diagnoses are not labels; they are tools. When understood correctly, they help us make sense of patterns and guide treatment, not define who you are.

Above all, I want you to feel seen, respected, and empowered. Healing is collaborative, and you are in the driver’s seat.

My approach to therapy

My approach to psychiatric care is collaborative, holistic, and rooted in active listening. Psychiatry is not algorithm medicine; it requires diagnostic reasoning, pattern recognition, and compassion. I take time to understand your story, not just your symptoms, truly.

I value transparency, honesty, and shared decision-making. I do not pressure clients into treatment plans; instead, we explore what makes sense for your life, values, and goals. I support medications when necessary and helpful, but I also believe strongly in neurofeedback, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and strengths-based approaches.

I want my clients to feel seen, not judged or rushed. A diagnosis, when needed, is not a label; it is a roadmap that can empower you to make informed choices. I teach clients how to understand their brains, regulate emotions, challenge unhelpful patterns, and build resilience.

Many people come to me during difficult or confusing seasons of life, so creating a safe, calm, and supportive space is a priority from day one. Together, we work toward a healthier, more hopeful, and more balanced version of you.

What you can expect from me

The first session focuses on building connection and understanding that there's no pressure and no judgment. I will take the time to learn about:

What brings you in

What success looks like for you

What you've tried in the past

Your fears, questions, or concerns about psychiatric care

Your medical and mental health history

Your coping skills and sources of resilience

Your comfort level with medications, therapy, or alternative treatments

This session is also an opportunity for you to get to know my style and ask any questions you may have. We will discuss your experiences with mental health care, clarify any misconceptions, and ensure you feel confident and informed.

By the end of the first visit, we will start developing a shared care plan that aligns with your values, lifestyle, and goals. This plan is flexible and can be adjusted at any time. I aim to understand what matters to you, what makes you feel safe, and what an "optimal life" looks like from your perspective.

Healing is different for everyone, and your care plan should reflect your unique strengths, culture, and lived experiences.
