Angela Saafigueroa

Hey there! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in New Jersey and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based out of Maine. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Master’s of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling in Clinical Mental Health. I attained my Approved Clinical Supervisor and Certified Clinical Supervisor in 2023. I've always worked on building a working and therapeutic alliance with my clients. Rapport building is really valuable to me!

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals challenge their thoughts and understand the impact of emotions, identifying core beliefs that may be creating barriers. For those experiencing significant mood shifts, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to develop coping skills and foster healthier relationships. Additionally, I incorporate Sandplay Therapy, an experiential method that taps into the unconscious mind using a tray of sand and miniatures.

In our first session, you can expect lots of questions from me! I like to get to know you and collaborate with you on what direction to go in your therapy. The first session can be tough and you're meeting me for the first time. You can know that I will respect whatever direction you feel is best to go in for our sessions.
