Great to meet you!

I understand we all get "stuck". I believe that connection is a necessary part of treatment. Clients describe me as “warm, honest, direct, open, helpful and flexible.” I take a no-nonsense approach to therapy. I have been on both sides of the therapy “couch” and know what it is like to share your inner-most fears, secrets, and goals with a therapist. I do not expect your trust. I will earn it. I believe therapy is a two-way street, and I will work with you.

I've helped adolescents and adults suffering from Addictions/Eating Disorders for over 35 years. I educate folks about Addiction/Eating Disorders and how to help the recovery process. I use CBT, FBT, Relational, Interpersonal, DBT, psychodynamic and 12-Step models in my practice. I believe in doing what works. I keep current with research and apply what I learn to practice.

My approach to therapy

As a trauma-informed therapist, my goal is to help resolve current behavior patterns that negatively impact your life. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and make important, life-affirming changes.

What you can expect from me

I will spend the first session getting to know you. I will be asking about your personal and family history, previous treatments, what worked and didn't, and what you want to accomplish in therapy. I will give you some suggestions on how we can work together to achieve the best result for you.
