Great to meet you!

I am licensed in North Carolina with 21 years of professional counseling experience. I received my Master's Degree in Rehabilitation and Substance Abuse Counseling from East Carolina University. I have experience in helping clients with problems related to stress and anxiety, depression, relationships and parenting, self esteem, and substance abuse. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Counseling is a passion of mine, and I count it a privilege to be able to assist others in their life journey.

My approach to therapy

I primarily use CBT and Person-Centered therapy in my counseling practice. I am eclectic, so I also use techniques from other approaches I deem beneficial to the counseling process. Since I am a Christian, I also enjoy incorporating scripture and prayer as my clients allow, viewing biblical truths as a conduit to healing and wellness.

What you can expect from me

In utilizing CBT, my clients practice engaging in awareness for identifying thoughts, emotions, and/or behaviors that sustain or significantly contribute to the issue(s) they are trying to address. And after being able to identify these contributing or sustaining factors, they are able to receive tools and support to modify these factors and bring about positive change in their circumstances. My goal is for all of my clients to leave from the counseling relationship stronger, healthier, and victorious.
