Annie Atwater

Annie works exclusively with LGBTQI people and their caregivers/loved ones across the life span, ages 3+ Annie is committed to providing Gender Affirming and Trauma informed therapy.

Annie is a 35 year old white cisgender lesbian woman. She was raised evangelical christian, and feels comfortable working with people who hold deep spiritual beliefs, have been impacted by the spiritual beliefs of others, and or have complicated and difficult relationships to religion and spirituality

Annie's clinical home is Narrative Therapy, and she enjoys supplementing this with Liberation Psychology, Sensory Motor Arousal Therapy (SMART) , and ACT.

Annie specializes in working with people experiencing religious trauma, people struggling to leave cults, trauma symptoms

Annie enjoys being flexible in approach, taking the time to create routines and rituals that make therapy space comfortable and helpful for each client. Annie values prison abolition, harm reduction, and radical transparency with clients.

Annie provides Individual, Couples/Partner therapy, and Family therapy. She enjoys working with partnerships of all kinds and is informed and enthusiastic about working with non monogamous and kinky people.
