Great to meet you!

If your child or teen is struggling with anxiety, big emotions, identity, or trauma, and you're trying to figure out who the right person to trust is, that instinct to be careful matters. I'm Sheridan, and I've spent 15 years working alongside young people and their families, mostly in school settings, where I learned to meet kids exactly where they are. I work with children, tweens, and teens. A few things your family should know about me: I'm an artist (painting, pottery, printmaking), I have a big snuggly dog, and I genuinely love to laugh. Families often describe me as warm and calm, with a real ability to attune. I also offer affirming, experienced support for LGBTQIA+ young people and teens exploring gender identity.

My approach to therapy

Our work is built on relationship first. Young people don't just need techniques; they need to feel genuinely connected to someone who gets them. I try to balance being playful with going to hard places, because kids need both. Depending on what your child needs, we might use art, storytelling, movement, or conversation. Caregivers stay part of the picture throughout, not just at the start, and I always pay close attention to how identity, culture, and community shape each young person's world.

What you can expect from me

The first session looks a bit different depending on your child's age. For teens, we'll talk about my style, set shared expectations, and figure out together if we're a good fit. For middle schoolers, we'll split time between caregiver time and time alone with your child. For younger children, I'll spend most of the first session with caregivers getting to know your child's world before we dive in. Wherever you're starting from, I'd love to connect.
