Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome to Blair Counseling & Wellness, LLP. I provide counseling for a wide variety of emotional and mental health needs for adults 18+. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, elderly individuals, and couples. Through reflection and empathic dialogue, openness to learning, growth, and conscious intentions, people at my practice establish habits, relationships and have conversations to successfully flourish. At Blair Counseling & Wellness, LLP, I expect you'll find an enhanced sense of joy, calm, clarity, peace of mind, healing, and relief from whatever it is that is on your mind.

My approach to therapy

I utilize CBT, Humanistic, and Mindfulness-based approaches with clients to help us understand our unique yet collective experiences through a calm, warm, and supportive manner. My therapeutic passion is meeting people where they are at while also helping them meet their full potential as they see it. It's essential that you understand I am not typically a 'long-term' therapist meaning you can expect to work with me for 1-18 months. This is called short-term solution-focused therapy, although I draw heavily from humanistic, ACT and CBT, as well as some Jungian theory.

What you can expect from me

Your first counseling session at Blair Counseling & Wellness, LLP, will feel like a professional back and forth chat. The goal of the first session is for me to get to know you and gather information, and for you to decide whether it feels like a good therapeutic 'fit.' Active, non-directive empathic listening is the main skill I use during the first session and throughout the counseling process (I am quite directive as time goes on, though, throughout the weeks and months). First and foremost, I intend to hear your story, your perspective, and to give you an opportunity to give me context. The first session is mostly to establish 'goodness of fit,' or 'professional rapport.'
