Great to meet you!

My name is Anthony, and I have worked in the behavioral health field for 30 years. I was honored to be recognized as a Notable Leader in Behavioral Health by Crain’s Detroit in 2023. Although much of my work involves training and supporting behavioral health professionals, counseling remains one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. I genuinely value the opportunity to partner directly with clients. I bring extensive clinical and life experience, a commitment to ongoing professional growth, and a warm, nonjudgmental presence to therapy. If you choose to work with me, you can expect me to be fully engaged in your journey and invested in helping you make meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe your voice, lived experience, strengths, and goals should guide the therapeutic process. Together, we will develop practical strategies for managing difficulties, reducing stress, and building greater confidence and resilience.Depending on your needs, I may draw from Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These approaches can support self-awareness, emotional regulation, mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. Therapy may also involve a deeper exploration of the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns that influence your life. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, identify what matters most to you, and create greater freedom and alignment in your choices.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus on beginning a strong, collaborative relationship. I will ask questions, listen carefully, and reflect what I am hearing so we can better understand your concerns and goals. I also want to make space for your questions about me and the therapy process. Together, we will begin identifying the challenges you would like to address, the strengths you can draw on, and practical strategies that may be helpful. You can expect a supportive, open, and nonjudgmental environment where we work as partners and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
