Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Over the past three years, I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and other emotional and behavioral difficulties.

Before becoming a counselor, I worked in helping professions, including education and other people-centered roles. These experiences provided valuable insight into the challenges people face across different stages of life and strengthened my ability to build meaningful, supportive therapeutic relationships.

My approach is person-centered and collaborative, integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

I am committed to providing compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care while continuing to grow professionally through ongoing learning and development. I believe that seeking support is a sign of strength, and I strive to create a welcoming environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is primarily person-centered. This means I believe that each person is the expert on their own life. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I work alongside them to better understand their experiences, strengths, values, and goals. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and accepted.

I take a collaborative approach to therapy and tend to be less directive than some therapists. Rather than providing answers or telling clients what decisions to make, I help clients explore their thoughts, emotions, and options so they can make choices that align with their values and goals. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel understood, empowered, and supported in discovering their own path forward.

While person-centered therapy serves as the foundation of my work, I recognize that no single approach is the right fit for everyone or every situation. I thoughtfully integrate evidence-based approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. This may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other therapeutic tools as appropriate.

Regardless of the techniques used, my work remains grounded in empathy, authenticity, acceptance, collaboration, and respect. My goal is to tailor therapy to each individual, helping clients gain insight, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change while ensuring they feel actively involved and supported throughout the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary goal is to get to know you and better understand what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, relevant life experiences, strengths, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether we’re a good fit for working together.

I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or overwhelming, especially if it is your first time seeking support. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can share at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

There is no expectation that you have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. Therapy is often a new experience, and it’s okay if you’re uncertain about what you need or where to begin. We can work together to better understand what’s bringing you in and identify what feels most important to address.

Together, we will begin identifying goals for therapy and exploring what meaningful progress might look like for you. I take a collaborative approach and recognize that goals and priorities may change as therapy progresses. Nothing is set in stone, and it’s always okay to revisit or adjust our focus as you gain new insights or your needs evolve.

My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of how we can work together moving forward. From there, we’ll continue building a therapeutic approach tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and goals.
