Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Ashley Matthies, MA, LPC, SAC. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and work with teens, adults, and couples navigating challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and substance use. I am trained in Brainspotting and enjoy helping clients process difficult experiences, gain insight into patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and move toward a more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself. My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative, and I work alongside you to better understand what you're experiencing and what you need to move forward. I draw from evidence-based approaches and Brainspotting to help clients process difficult experiences, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful change in a way that feels authentic to them.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, what you'd like support with, and any goals you have, but there's no pressure to share everything at once. My hope is that you'll leave feeling comfortable, understood, and with a better sense of how therapy can support you moving forward.
