Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Ashley Mitchell, LPC, BCN, a licensed mental health counselor and board-certified neurofeedback therapist. I’m passionate about helping people achieve greater mental and emotional well-being through a combination of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and holistic, mindfulness-based practices.

I specialize in working with anxiety, sleep difficulties, and stress management, and I have a particular interest in helping men and women navigate the first year—and beyond—of becoming parents. As a parent myself, I understand that this transition can bring incredible joy while also bringing unexpected challenges. Relationship strain, grieving the life you had before kids, navigating new identities and roles, and trying to understand the many physical, emotional, and mental changes that come with parenthood can be a lot to navigate. Whether you’re struggling to reconnect with your partner, feeling overwhelmed by your new role, or simply wondering, “What is happening to me?”—you don’t have to navigate it alone.

When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy long walks, reading, spending time with family and friends, and watching my kids participate in the activities they love. I also enjoy trying new things—whether that’s experimenting in the kitchen, exploring a new hiking trail, visiting a museum, or, when I get the chance, traveling.

I believe therapy should feel warm, collaborative, and judgment-free—a place where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life. I look forward to connecting with you!

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is centered on you as an individual. I believe in creating a warm, safe space where you feel comfortable opening up and exploring your thoughts and feelings. I strive to tailor our work together to fit your specific needs. I incorporate a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness practices

What you can expect from me

When working with me, clients will leave feeling safe, heard, and understood—able to express or reveal things they may not have been able to in the past. I prioritize creating an environment where you can feel comfortable and supported. Together, we will focus on key goals like emotion regulation, processing difficult memories, and reframing anxiety around future challenges. My goal is to help you gain the tools and confidence needed to manage life's ups and downs.
