Great to meet you!

It brings me joy to help people on their journey toward growth. I'm here to help you untangle problems, resolve unwanted behaviors, or improve difficult relationships. I have a master's in counseling, and in addition to 10 years working as a therapist, I've gained insight from raising five children, being married for four decades, and winning a battle with cancer. I serve a variety of clients including individuals in the corrections system. I love being outdoors, especially the mountains, and believe, wholeheartedly, that sunshine and fresh air have therapeutic properties for the mind, body, and soul.

My approach to therapy

I enjoy hearing what prompts a client to come to therapy and what they hope to gain. I'm a good listener. I've been told I have a peaceful presence and desire to help ease any hesitation or fear you might have about the therapy process. Attachment theory is one approach I use to help both individuals and couples. I believe the way we connected with caregivers as children profoundly impacts how we interact with ourselves and our romantic partners as adults. I apply Cognitive Behavioral therapy, especially if you're wanting to change problematic thinking and align your beliefs with your actions. Life transitions can present challenging circumstances leading to stress, anxiety, depression, or grief. I help you explore good self-care practices, learn to design effective work and relationship boundaries, and develop healthy ways to minimize stress.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to gain new insights and tools for your lifelong path toward health and growth. I'd be thrilled to see you gain greater confidence and satisfying solutions for your life as you begin to lay down the burden and complexities of your presenting issues.
