Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Ashya Kennedy. I have been a licensed counselor since 2019. I specialize in trauma and PTSD, LGBTQ+ issues, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I work primarily with older adolescents and adults in their 20s and 30s. My practice is called Inner Guidance Counseling because I believe that everything you have and need is within you and it's my job to hold space for you to connect with and follow your inner guidance.

My approach to therapy

I would describe my approach as gentle and affirming. Everyone goes through difficult experiences in life and need a space where they feel heard and valued. I strive to create a space for a client to be their most vulnerable and authentic selves without fear of judgment. I incorporate a lot of somatic work and mindfulness into sessions as well.

What you can expect from me

You can expect an environment that feels safe and comfortable to them, whatever that looks like. I am very client-centered. This means that I meet you where you're at and let you lead the way. Goals and topics of discussion are centered on what you feel like you need in that moment and move at a pace you are comfortable with. We will work collaboratively to help you meet your goals and ultimately feel more aligned with your true self.
