Great to meet you!

My passion is working with people and helping them to be the best they can be. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina with 24+ years of therapeutic experience. My experience started in Mental Health Clinics, but I have been working in private practice for over 15 years. I help people with a variety of concerns to include stress, anxiety, coping with grief and loss, parenting issues, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence.

My approach to therapy

My style is to lead with compassion and acceptance and tailor therapy to meet your needs. I believe your strengths will allow you to grow so you can be the best possible you. Life is difficult and often having support and learning some skills can lead to feeling better. You will learn how to advocate and solve problems for yourself. By creating a mutually beneficial relationship, this will allow you to set goals, healthy boundaries, and develop practical skills to deal your emotions and situations. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

What you can expect from me

What you can expect during our first session is getting to know one another and developing a plan on what our goals will be while we are working together. You will see this is a collaborative process where we both bring our experiences and work together towards your goal. The goals will be specific and measurable so there will be a goal we will be working towards from the beginning. You will also give feedback on what it is you are looking for in a therapist and what has and has not worked for you. At the end of the session, you will choose if this feels comfortable and will work for you.
