Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Beckett! I’m a therapist with a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and over six years of experience in the mental health field. I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, identity exploration, and life transitions. A particular focus of my work is supporting LGBTQ+ clients, especially transgender and gender-diverse individuals. I also have experience providing assessments and letters for gender-affirming care.

My approach is person-centered and collaborative, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), in which I hold additional certifications. I bring a warm, practical approach to helping you understand what’s keeping you stuck and develop tools that fit your everyday life. Together, we’ll work toward goals that matter to you, at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, person-centered, and grounded in your goals. You bring expertise in your own life, and I bring curiosity, support, and practical tools to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing. Together, we’ll explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships while making room for the experiences and circumstances that shape them.

I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing, tailoring our work to your needs. Sessions may include exploring a difficult experience, practicing coping skills, or identifying manageable steps toward change. I approach identity with openness and affirmation, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before we begin.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and talk about what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask about your current concerns, relevant background, and what you’d like to get out of our work together. We’ll also discuss how therapy works, including confidentiality, and leave space for any questions you have.

You don’t need to prepare a perfect explanation or share everything right away. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable and begin identifying what support would be most helpful. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, with a clearer sense of how we might work together.
