I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and has served on the board and in the Delegate Assembly, including State of Michigan Vice President for Social Policy. She also serves on several nonprofit boards.

Abuse; anxiety; anger management; bullying; Christian counseling (upon request); conduct disorder; crisis support; depression; intimate partner violence; relationship concerns; schizophrenia; self-esteem; sexual abuse; stress management; PTSD; traumatic brain injury; workplace stress; and related concerns.

My approach to therapy

  1. My approach to therapy is grounded in a strength-based perspective that recognizes each person’s resilience, capacities, and potential for growth. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and therapy is a collaborative process that builds upon existing strengths while exploring challenges, patterns, and goals in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.

I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. My work emphasizes self-awareness, emotional safety, personal meaning, and practical strategies that support healing and long-term wellbeing. I aim to foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, cultural sensitivity, and compassion.

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the therapeutic process. I am committed to protecting clients’ privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of all information shared within therapy, in accordance with professional ethical standards and legal requirements. Information discussed in sessions is kept private except in circumstances where disclosure is required by law or necessary to ensure safety.

Through a collaborative and client-centered process, I support individuals in identifying strengths, navigating life challenges, building resilience, and moving toward meaningful personal change.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect:

  • A welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where you are free to share at your own pace.
  • An opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, including current challenges, concerns, stressors, or goals.
  • Questions about your background and history, such as relationships, emotional wellbeing, coping patterns, and important life experiences. This helps me better understand your story and how to support you effectively.
  • A conversation about your goals for therapy and what you hope to gain from the process.
  • Information about confidentiality, boundaries, and the therapy process, so you know what to expect moving forward.
  • Space for your questions, including anything you may want to know about my approach, scheduling, or how therapy works.

There is no pressure to share everything immediately. Therapy is a process built on trust, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you.

My goal is to help you feel heard, respected, and supported as we begin this journey together.
