Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 22 years of experience helping people navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, substance use, life transitions, and the emotional weight that can come with simply trying to hold everything together. I’ve worked in community mental health centers, hospitals, correctional settings, and crisis environments, which has given me experience supporting people from all walks of life and backgrounds.

Clients often describe me as approachable, down-to-earth, humorous, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy works best when people feel genuinely comfortable being themselves, not judged, analyzed, or pressured to “have it all figured out.” My goal is to create a space where clients can breathe, process what’s going on, and start moving toward a healthier and more grounded version of themselves.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, honest, and focused on real-life change. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Reality Therapy to help clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and environments all interact with one another. Together, we work on building healthier coping skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening relationships, and breaking patterns that no longer serve them.

I don’t believe therapy should feel cold or overly clinical. I try to meet clients where they are with compassion, authenticity, and practical support. Whether someone is dealing with anxiety, trauma, anger, addiction, stress, identity concerns, or feeling emotionally stuck, my goal is to help them feel heard while also helping them create authentic progress in their lives.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really about getting comfortable and starting the conversation. Clients can expect a relaxed, supportive environment where we talk about what’s been weighing on them, what they hope to change, and what life has looked like lately. There’s no pressure to share everything immediately or have the “perfect” explanation for why they’re seeking therapy.

I focus on helping clients feel safe enough to be honest while also beginning to identify goals, patterns, and areas where support may help most. Most people leave the first session feeling relieved to finally say things out loud and realizing they don’t have to carry everything alone anymore.
