Great to meet you!

I have been working in the mental health field for 35 years, supporting individuals, children, and families through a wide range of challenges. My background includes extensive experience in school settings, correctional environments, and community mental health, giving me a broad and practical understanding of how people grow, cope, and heal in different stages of life.

My clinical work has focused on trauma, relationship concerns, attachment styles, family work, Infant Mental Health, individual mental health and helping clients build healthier patterns in their lives and connections. I enjoy creating a calm, grounded space where people feel understood and supported. Outside of my work, I find peace spending time at the lake, and I bring that same sense of steadiness and reflection into my sessions.

My goal is to meet clients where they are, help them feel safe sharing their story, and work together toward meaningful, sustainable change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, caring, and collaborative. I work to create a supportive space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. I use a strength-based, solution‐focused, problem‐solving style and often integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to help clients identify unhelpful patterns, build practical coping skills, and move toward meaningful change.

I tailor my approach to each person’s needs, drawing from my experience with trauma, relationships, attachment styles, and family dynamics. Together, we clarify your goals, explore what’s getting in the way, and develop realistic steps to help you move forward with confidence and resilience.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a calm, supportive space where we begin getting to know each other. I’ll focus on understanding what brings you in, what you’re hoping to work on, and what feels most important to you right now. We’ll talk about your history, your strengths, and any goals you’d like to set, but we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I take a warm, caring, and collaborative approach, and I’ll guide the conversation with gentle structure, and clear direction so you feel grounded and heard. We may begin exploring practical strategies using the most appropriate evidenced -based practice that meets your needs. I am well versed in strength-based, solution‐focused, Motivational Interviewing techniques as well as CBT and Trauma Informed Care depending on your needs. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about our work together. Let’s get started!! Hope and healing are here!!!
