Great to meet you!

I’m Beverly Nicholas, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and I’ve been working in this field since 1999. Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a training manager for the Department of Defense at Tinker Air Force Base, where I felt called to use my experience to help people recognize their own strength, potential, and ability to change. It is a real privilege to walk alongside clients in vulnerable seasons, and I want therapy to feel like a place where you are treated with dignity, feel safe enough to be honest, and leave feeling more empowered than when you came in.

My approach to therapy

My approach is recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally competent. I work with people facing mental health concerns, substance use, and co-occurring challenges, and I care deeply about meeting each client with respect rather than judgment. I also have a special interest in supporting women with children, while welcoming clients of all ages and backgrounds. My hope is that our work helps you build practical change, reconnect with your abilities, and move toward a steadier, healthier life that feels more manageable and more fully your own.

What you can expect from me

We’ll begin by turning down the outside noise and focusing on what feels heaviest for you right now. In a first session, I want to understand what you have been carrying, what has brought you here, and where you most want support. You can expect a welcoming, respectful space where we begin sorting through what matters most at a pace that feels honest and productive.

In our first sessions, we'll explore questions like: What would healing or progress look like for you? What is bothering you the most? What changes would you hope to see in your life? These conversations help guide our work together and ensure therapy is focused on what matters most to you.
