Great to meet you!

Bonnie Phillips is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University in 2005 and began her career working in schools, group homes, hospitals, and private practice. This diverse background allows her to support clients through a wide range of life challenges with compassion and understanding.

Creating a trusting and supportinve relationship is Bonnie’s top priority. She values genuineness, empathy, and active listening, and considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they build practical skills, access their inner strengths, and move toward greater emotional balance and well-being.

My approach to therapy

Bonnie takes a client-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. She believes meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment . This initial meeting is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin building a sense of safety and trust. I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns you may have, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I’ll also ask some questions about your background, current stressors, and strengths to better understand your experiences and how I can best support you. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals for therapy and discuss what approaches may be most helpful. My intention is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and more hopeful—knowing you don’t have to navigate things alone.
