Brandi Sickmund

Thanks for being here! I have 13 years of experience working in the mental health field. I started my career working in a shelter for women and children who have experienced Domestic Violence. From there I transitioned to a case management position where I served adults who have developmental disabilities. During my education for my master's degree, I interned for a Community Mental Health agency on their Assertive Community Treatment team which is an intensive, 24/7 community-based mental health service model for adults with serious and persistent mental illness. After graduation I was hired to work with adults and children in the jail, juvenile detention center, and local hospitals who are in crisis and needing a higher level of care treatment.

I have extensive history working with individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.

I value the use of motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and am Level 1 certified from the Gottman Institute for couple's therapy. I focus on strengths-based solutions and find it important to always meet you where you are at!

During our first session together, we will explore the three where's; where you've been, where you are now, and where you want to go. I think it's important to take a look at your life as a whole to find what you've used before to overcome challenges and explore why it may not be working for you now.
