Welcome, I am a Clinical Social Worker, I was born and raised in California and relocated to Maryland. I have a Masters in Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore and a Bachelors in Cultural Anthropology. It is my strong heritage as a Chicana that pushed me to find a career that would allow me to give back to my community by providing a culturally inclusive therapeutic space that encompasses diversity, healing, empowerment and instills value
I am trained in CBT with a trauma focus while always including a culturally sensitive and competent approach. Every person is unique which is why I provide an eclectic approach to the modalities used in sessions. I believe in partnering with clients as their own experts and finding ways for them to grow and thrive. Working from a cross-cultural and trauma-informed lens is a critical part of my approach which may also include mindfulness, holistic practices, journaling and homework
Sessions are tailored according to the clients interests and desires that may include solution focused, problem-solving, establishing strategies that include holistic practices and mindfulness, structured activities, or simply talk therapy. The space is the clients and I try to be flexible and creative in providing ways in which together we can provide a space for growth and learning.
