Great to meet you!

I have been doing this work since 2009 — which means I have sat with a lot of people through a lot of different kinds of hard. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling with a dual focus in professional counseling and marriage and family therapy, and my career has moved through two distinct chapters that have shaped how I practice. The first half was spent in the world of substance use — working with individuals and families where the stakes were high and the complexity was real. The last several years have been in private practice, where I've worked with the full range of human struggle: depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, substance use disorders, parenting stress, and the disorienting moments when life shifts beneath your feet. I work with individuals, couples, and groups. Very few things surprise me at this point — and that's exactly what makes this work feel safe.

My approach to therapy

I think of myself as a guide, a helper, and a teacher — in that order. My first job is never to prescribe a method. It's to know you. What you're dealing with, how you think, what's already worked in your life and what hasn't. Because there is no universal formula for growth, and any tool I offer you should actually fit your life — not the other way around. I draw from several theoretical frameworks and adapt my approach to what makes sense for each individual. Underneath all of it is a belief I hold firmly: every person already has what it takes to get through what they're facing. My role is to help you find it, trust it, and use it. I respect your autonomy completely. This is your journey — I'm just here to help you navigate it.

What you can expect from me

I know reaching out isn't easy. For a lot of people, it's something they've thought about for months before actually doing it — and the fact that you're here means something. Our first session is about getting oriented: who you are, what's brought you in, and what you're hoping this might look like. I'll ask questions and I'll listen carefully, not just to what you say but to how you say it — because that tells me a lot about where we should start. There's no pressure to have a clear agenda or a neatly summarized problem. We'll find our footing together. My goal by the end of that first hour is simple: that you leave with a sense that this was worth it — and that you want to come back.
