I was born and raised in Hawaii. I graduated from Waipahu High School, received my bachelor's degree from Yale University, and my master's degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. My wife and I have been married for 30 years, and we have three children and a rascal dog named Makana.

My approach to therapy

Life can be challenging. I am here to help you. My commitment is to work with you in addressing and dealing with the problems and issues that you face. My experience is working with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, relationships (including couples counseling), family issues, and grief and loss. I use a collaborative approach that focuses on your needs, utilizing client-centered, solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral approaches.

I will want to hear from you about why you're coming for counseling. I will share with you about my approach in working together with you. We will discuss a number of strategies and ways to proceed and allow you to decide.
