Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Brian. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (DC LICSW, MD LCSW-C) with over nine years of experience supporting individuals in hospitals, outpatient settings, schools, and nonprofit agencies. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and dual master’s degrees in Social Work and Divinity from Andrews University. My work is focused on helping young adults and older adults deal with mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and stress.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you. I work with young adults and older adults navigating challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and stress. Together, we’ll explore strategies and approaches that fit your unique needs. Approaches I often use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy. I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. In our work together, you’ll discover your strengths, develop practical skills, and find solutions that help you grow, heal, and move forward in life.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect a space that is warm, supportive, and open. I want you to feel comfortable with sharing the issues you are facing. I place a strong emphasis on building the therapeutic relationship as we work together on issues that are causing you distress in order to build trust and aim towards cultivating meaningful change in your life.

Together, we'll work on what you hope to get out of therapy, identify goals that are tailored to your needs, and identify strengths that you already have that will help empower you to tackle, head on, challenges you are facing.
