Briana Flesch

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years experience working with adolescents, adults, couples and children. I am also an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist (CST). I earned my B.A. in psychology and my Master of Social Work at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. In previous internship and work experiences, I have worked in a variety of different settings including intensive community based programs, inpatient hospitals, and outpatient services.

Professional organizations that I belong to include the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I am licensed in DC, Virginia & Maryland.

With a warm but direct approach I encourage a client in their personal growth and development. I utilize an integrative mix of therapeutic modalities, with a strong basis in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused, strengths based, and feminist theories. This means I tailor sessions to the individual needs of the clients.

Our first few sessions are focused on defining presenting issues and goals along with making sure we are a good fit working together. Since I work often with people on relationships goals and sexuality, it is important that trust and understanding is established first.
