The first thing that you need to know about me is that I will be your cheerleader, your confidante, your safe space, but I will not work harder than you!
I believe that the people I support need to be "in the driver's seat" of thier recovery and see myself as the co-pilot. I have a lot of lived experience and have also learned a lot from my clients over the years. I feel that if I'm not learning from you, I'm not doing my job. I do not shy away from hard things and will always be honest and forthcoming with you. I do not sugarcoat things or beat around bush. Although I am direct, I am also kind and compassionate, I just respect you enough to tell you the truth.
I realize that therapy is hard and serious, but I do believe that recovery includes having a sense of humor about things. I am focused on moving you forward and while exploring the past can have it's benefits, living there is usually not helpful. My "style" is ecclectic in nature. I pull from many different types of therapy, but most importantly I focus on building a therapeutic relationship with the people I am supporting. Everyone is different and I try very hard to give my clients what they need to succeed.
I have worked with children, adolescents, families, adults, and seniors. I have had many leadership roles throughout my career and enjoy doing consultation work as well. I have extensive experience in crisis work. My expertise lies in trauma work, parent support, depression, anxiety, and people who struggle to have healthy relationships in general. I care less about diagnoses and more about the thinking and behavioral patterns that preventing people from moving forward and reaching their true potential.
